 IMPORTANT NOTES:

Please Contact Gyobutsuji at least three days before visiting. The temple is sometimes closed for practice events or travel. 

Please be aware that Gyobutsuji is located in  a remote location and can only be accessed by unpaved roads. Our driveway can be particularly hard to navigate at times, especially for passenger cars with a low ground clearance. Arrangements can be made to pick you up on our drive if needed. Please contact us before coming for information about the condition of our driveway. 

Please read the following notes, as the GPS coordinates have in the past gotten some vistors lost.

The directions produced by Google Maps on this page stop on the road they call “Co. Rd. 9”. This is incomplete.

Directions from Kingston, AR:

– Take Hwy 21 south six miles – Turn right at Madison 3260 (Red Star Road) and continue 2.2 miles.

Important note: Google maps shows this road as Co. Rd. 9, but the road is actually Madison 3260. There is also a sign posted at the intersection of State Highway 21 and Madison 3260 that says “Red Star ->” & “<- Elk Horn”)

– After driving 2.2 miles on Madison 3260, turn right at an unnamed road with two mailboxes (one mailbox has our address on it: HC 65 Box 234A).

– Keep right at each fork until you arrive.
